It’s hard to believe that a year has already passed since the Exchange Control Advisory Hub (ECAH) came to life. What began as a mere dream, to make exchange control more accessible, understandable, and empowering, has evolved into a deeply rewarding journey filled with growth, learning, and connection.

This past year has been incredibly rewarding professionally. Each client who crossed my path, every bank official, corporate, professional firm, or individual — brought unique challenges, questions, and stories. And with every engagement, I was reminded why I started this journey in the first place: to help people navigate complexities with confidence, clarity, and peace of mind.

Reflecting on the past year, I’ve realised that progress isn’t always about giant milestones. More often, it’s found in the small, steady steps forward, the ones that slowly build something lasting. Every new client who trusted us with their story, every connection that opened a door, and every response from the South African Reserve Bank felt like a little victory. Each one was acknowledged and celebrated, because together they marked progress, learning, and the steady unfolding of a dream that has truly taken on a life of its own.

ECAH’s first year has been about far more than advisory work. It has been about relationships. About seeing clients grow, expand internationally, and approach compliance not as a barrier, but as a bridge. Seeing professionals gain understanding through training sessions, and knowing that, in some small way, ECAH has helped make the world of exchange control a little simpler.
